What it means
The transition period from active cancer treatment back to everyday life. It may involve fears of recurrence, persistent fatigue and difficulties with reintegration. Ongoing medical and psychological support is important.

- Cancer recovery
- A process of physical and mental recovery after active cancer treatment. It includes adapted physical activity, physiotherapy, and nutritional and psychological counseling to improve quality of life.
- Cancer rehabilitation plan
- A structured program that helps the patient regain physical, cognitive or emotional functions affected by cancer or its treatment. It includes physiotherapy, speech therapy and counseling.
- Distress
- A state of emotional, social or spiritual suffering in the context of cancer. It is not a weakness but a normal reaction. Recognizing and assessing distress is part of standard cancer care.
