What it means
An approach that improves the quality of life of patients with life-threatening illnesses by preventing and relieving suffering: symptom control, emotional support and home care. It is not limited to the end of life.

- Palliative care plan
- A document that sets out the goals and strategies of care for patients with advanced disease. It covers symptom control, emotional support and preparation for important medical decisions.
- Cancer recovery
- A process of physical and mental recovery after active cancer treatment. It includes adapted physical activity, physiotherapy, and nutritional and psychological counseling to improve quality of life.
- Cancer rehabilitation plan
- A structured program that helps the patient regain physical, cognitive or emotional functions affected by cancer or its treatment. It includes physiotherapy, speech therapy and counseling.
