What it means
A grading system used for breast cancer, which assesses three features of the tumor cells under the microscope to establish a grade from 1 to 3. A higher score indicates a more aggressive tumor.

- Tumor grade (G1–G4)
- A histological classification that shows how different the cancer cell is from the normal cell it came from. G1 means cells that are almost normal (less aggressive), while G4 means cells that are very different (very aggressive). It helps assess how fast the tumor is growing.
- AFP (alpha-fetoprotein)
- A tumor marker useful especially for liver cancer and certain testicular or ovarian tumors. It is measured in the blood for diagnosis, monitoring treatment and detecting a recurrence.
- ALK-positive
- A gene rearrangement found in a subset of lung cancers, more common in non-smoking or younger patients. ALK-positive tumors often respond very well to specific targeted therapies, different from standard chemotherapy.
