100% paid medical leave

For neoplasms, the medical-leave allowance is 100% of the calculation base and no minimum insurance contribution period is required.

Investigations through Monitor 2

When the CNAS Monitor 2 pathway applies, eligible monitoring investigations can be settled above the provider's contract value.

Oncology-program access without insurance

People without insurance may access services for cancer prevention and confirmation and services in the National Oncology Programme under CNAS rules.

Disability assessment

A cancer diagnosis may support an application for disability classification, but the degree and benefits are not automatic; they follow an individual functional assessment.

Travel support linked to disability status

Depending on the disability classification and the option chosen under Law 448/2006, travel tickets or fuel/intercity transport support may be available.

Reimbursed oncology medicines

Eligible oncology medicines may be provided through the National Oncology Programme or CNAS reimbursement sublists, depending on indication and protocol.

Planned treatment in the EU — S2 form

CNAS may authorise planned treatment in another EU state through form S2 when European and national conditions are met.

Hospital social-work support

Some oncology hospitals provide social-work support for disability files, benefits, accommodation or referrals to NGOs.
