A professional who helps the patient and family with the social and practical aspects of the illness: access to services, legal rights, financial counseling and home care.

- Cancer recovery
- A process of physical and mental recovery after active cancer treatment. It includes adapted physical activity, physiotherapy, and nutritional and psychological counseling to improve quality of life.
- Cancer rehabilitation plan
- A structured program that helps the patient regain physical, cognitive or emotional functions affected by cancer or its treatment. It includes physiotherapy, speech therapy and counseling.
- Distress
- A state of emotional, social or spiritual suffering in the context of cancer. It is not a weakness but a normal reaction. Recognizing and assessing distress is part of standard cancer care.
